Canada customer – Combined Sea, Land, and Air Shipment to Meet Delivery Deadlines
Published On: March 16, 2026
Background
In 2023, A Canadian lighting importer placed their first order with us—12 specifications totaling 32,000 pieces, including brass universal joints, iron connectors, and aluminum lamp arms. The customer had two concerns:
-
Their factory in Canada was about to start production and needed a part of components urgently
-
The remaining components could ship slower, but all needed to arrive before peak season
The customer's requirement was clear: "Get the first batch to us as fast as possible. For the rest, keep costs under control."
Requirement Analysis
The customer split the order into three batches:
-
First batch (urgent) : 4 specifications, 4,000 pieces—needed shipment within 7 days to meet production startup
-
Second batch (regular) : 5 specifications, 15,000 pieces—sea freight to control costs
-
Third batch (remaining) : 3 specifications, 13,000 pieces—sea freight, 2 weeks after second batch
Solutions
We developed a combined shipping plan using air, sea, and land transport:
First Batch (Air Freight)
-
Production: Prioritized scheduling, completed 4,000 pieces in 3 days
-
Quality control: Dedicated staff inspected as production progressed—no delays
-
Shipment: Day 4—trucked to Shenzhen Airport, air freight to Vancouver
-
Delivery: Day 7—received at customer's factory, production started on time
Second Batch (Sea + Land)
-
Production: Started immediately after first batch shipped, completed 15,000 pieces in 8 days
-
Shipment: Factory truck to Yantian Port, Shenzhen—sea freight to Vancouver Port
-
Local delivery: Trucked from port to customer warehouse
-
Total time: 28 days from factory shipment to customer receipt
Third Batch (Sea Freight)
-
Production: Continued after second batch shipped, completed 13,000 pieces in 7 days
-
Shipment: Dispatched 2 weeks after second batch, same Yantian Port route
-
Delivery: Received at customer warehouse 35 days after first batch signed
Result
-
First batch arrived on time—customer's production line kept running
-
Second and third batches stayed within budget
-
Customer feedback: "First time working with you, and you already considered both our urgent needs and cost control."
Follow-up
This customer has now placed orders for two consecutive years, with annual volume stable at 80,000-100,000 pieces. For urgent orders, we still use combined air and sea freight to balance delivery speed and cost.
